Back to school

I can't believe that my kids are already back in school. I guess when you only have a three week summer vacation that is spent playing baseball every night it makes the time fly by. Peyton is in third grade this year. Since it's a new school for him I was a little sad that he was leaving his old friends behind that he know for the last 3 years, but then I found out that a friend from first grade is in his class. I think I was more excited than he was. This year Peyton get to learn how to write cursive. They can't start until everyone in the class can write the single letters right so he practices everyday. He can't wait to get started. Peyton has a really fun teacher this year that he likes. I can't wait to see all that he gets from 3rd grade. He is such a great student and there isn't a subject that he doesn't like.
Bare with me on this one. Kasen is in first grade this year :( This was quite the adjustment for me having him gone ALL DAY. I have never not had 2 of them at home with me for A LOT of years and now all the sudden the time has come when I'm down to only 1. Kasen loves school......once he gets there. He has a little trouble getting up and out the door but once hes there he has so much fun. He had become quite the little reader and he says that math is one of his favorite subjects, along with lunch and recess :) I am so so so glad that he likes school and seems to be doing really great!
Kylie is in her second year of preschool. She started back after a month and half vacation and jumped right back in as if she never left. She has so much fun at school. She is always singing the songs and reciting the poems that she learns at school. She will start a reading program this year and she can not wait. I on the other hand can. She just doesn't seem old enough to me to be learning how to read.
It is sort of nice to have a couple of hours to myself 3 afternoons a week, but I just can't believe that my kids are getting so old. When they were little this school stuff seemed so far away and now in just 2 short years I will be home all by myself. I am really glad though that they all love school and seem to be doing very well. So far so good :)

9 year old State Champions

Peyton's allstar team went undefeated in 7 games to take the 9 year old state champion title! They started in Stansbury Park at the district tournament beating Hillcrest, Taylorsville and Riverton. This gave them the #1 seed going into the state tournament. There they beat West Jordan, Hunter/Cyprus (in extra innings by 1) and Murray. In the championship game they played Taylorsville. They had a great start with their bats and kept their momentum the entire game. What a relief it was to have that game over with a win!Since they won, the team was invited to Fowler, CA for the Western Regional tournament. There they got to play against the best 11 teams from California, Arizona and Nevada. For Peyton and some of his teammates this was a once in a lifetime opportunity because they won't be playing city league anymore. Needless to say they were so excited and looking forward to the trip.First thing in Fowler we went to the Opening Ceremony/BBQ with all the other teams and their families. From there we went to the field for the skills competition. Peyton got to participate in 2 events. The first one was the wheels category with 3 teammates and they took 3rd place. The second was around the horn with 3 other teammates. It was a fun night for them. The next day the games began. They beat Nevada and Arizona their first 2 games and lost to Fowler in the third game. Going 2-1 in pool play seeded them 6th in the single elimination round. They played Clovis, CA and lost. So, they ended up with 6th place (out of 12).It was such a great trip and the boys had so much fun. I'm so proud of them for working their hardest and doing their best to make it that far. What a great accomplishment!

And that's the ball game

Baseball has finally ended! It was such a crazy, busy and fun season :) Kasen was so much fun to watch this year. His team didn't do so well, but he learned a lot and he finally got to play "real baseball" like his older brother. He had a lot of fun with his cousin Tyson on his team and his dad as his coach. He played 12 games winning 4, losing 7 and he had 1 tie. His team finished in 6th place overall. He also made the allstar team again this year and his team won that game too.

Ok, try and stay with me on this one. Peyton played on 3 teams this year. City league, Super league and AllStars. He had 4 teammates that played on all 3 teams with him. He also had 2 other teammates that played on his super league team and 1 of them was on his allstar team and the other was on his city league team. Confusing I know, that's about how the season went until we were finally down to one team and one uniform. His super league team played in a tournament in February and the official season started April 18th and the last game was played on July 24th. He played 28 games winning 22 and losing 6. His city league team played up a year, so he was an 8 year old playing against 9, 10 and some 11 year olds. Boy, did his team hold their own. They played 14 games winning 12 and losing 2 . His team finished in second place overall. This leads up to his Allstar team.He played 11 games winning 9 and losing 2. His team went undefeated in 7 games to win the 9 year old state champion title! That was a great day! For winning the title they were invited to the Western Regional tournament in Fowler, Ca. to play against the top teams from California, Nevada and Arizona. There his team won 2 and lost 2, taking 6th place out of 12, not to shabby if I do say so myself.
Wow, what a season. I thought that after sitting thru 66 baseball games I was ready to move onto football, but I'm a bit sad that it is all over. Especially Peyton's teams. We are so dang lucky to be associated with some great people. We have such a great baseball family (i call them my family because i spend so so so much time with them). I love them all and am so grateful that they have incredible boys that are some of the best friends Peyton will ever have. I've said it once and I'll say it again. I am so grateful for the lessons they are learning, for the life long friends they are making and for the memories they are creating. I am so blessed to have these 2 incredible boys with amazing talent. I am so dang proud of them for all their hard work and dedication. It was a crazy 3 months with 6 games a week, but I honestly wouldn't have it any other way! I can't wait until next season!

Dance with all your heart

Kylie LOVES to dance, actually love may be an under statement. At any given time, at any given place you'll find her dancing. Even right in front of the TV (where Josh is watching sports) she'll dance her little legs off. He used to get mad and then realized that that wasn't going to stop her, so now he just watches around her. Kylie dances and does tumbling at an amazing studio. She loves all of her little dancer friends and has had some awesome teachers. She has 2 recitals a year, one the end of May and the other is right before Christmas (both of which Josh and the boys whine about having to go to). Then I not so nicely remind them about how many basketball, baseball and soon to be football games she sits through......a week! 2 a year won't kill them.
This year her teacher told me what a great job she is doing in class and suggested that she try out for a competition dance team. At first I was a little hesitant because I'm not sure I could handle another "team". I though about how much she LOVES to dance and about how much I let the boys do, so I let her do it.....and she made it! She is now a Sunsation. She has already had 2 dance camps and will have about 5 competitions starting in February.I am so excited for her! She is such a natural and will do an amazing job. I'm so glad that I have a little girl to mix things up a bit from the sports world.

Schools out for the summer

This school year went by so fast. Peyton finished 2nd grade, Kasen finished Kindergarten and Kylie finished her 1st year of Preschool. They all had such great teachers and are all great students. Peyton had a week of fun at the end of the year with activities like a read-a-thon, scooter day, wet-n-wild day and field day. The day before school let out he had an awards assembly and we got to stay and eat lunch with him. It was neat to see all the awards he got for his work through out the school year. I'm excited to see what 3rd grade brings!Kasen had a Kindergarten program the beginning of June. He sang a lot of songs, read some poems and had a slide show. His last week of school he had field day. I "got to" coordinate field day for grades K-1st and put together 10 games for the kids to play. It was a lot of fun! He is so excited to start 1st grade....actually he is excited to eat lunch at school and have 2 recesses. As for me, well I'm still trying to get used to the idea that he will be gone all day. Kylie had a great first year of preschool. I couldn't believe the day had come when my baby would really start school, when she was born it seemed so far away. Her last week of school she had a year end program. And just like Kasen's, she sang a lot of songs. It was really cute. She is my only one who actually sang along with the songs and didn't just sit and look at everyone else. She was so excited for her program, she had those songs memorized. She sang them all day, everyday, everywhere we went. Next year she will be learning so much more and I am glad that she is eager to learn!

Runners to your mark

So, as if we weren't busy enough with baseball we signed the boys up to run track. Peyton ran last year and loved it so he wanted to do it again and when Kasen found out he was old enough he wanted to give it a try.
Peyton runs the 100 m, 200 m and 400 m. He is especially good in the 400 m. Kasen runs the 50m, 100 m and 200 m. I love to watch him run, he makes his little legs go just as fast as they can go but he looks like he is in slow motion....so cute! They are both great runners and I'm so proud of how hard they both work.

When did life become so CRAZY

I've been really bad about updating my blog lately, as well as keeping up with the laundry, making dinner, cleaning the house etc, etc, etc.
My life has been so super busy the last couple of months. One week we had 4 baseball games, 2 track meet, dance camp, 2 field days and lunch day.
So, this is a quick update to let you all know that we are still alive and well. I will be updating from clear back in May, but not sure how I will post everything- by month, kid or activity. So stay tuned because it will be coming....ALL of it!!

9 years of marital bliss

Happy 9th Anniversary to Josh and I. I can't believe it has been 9 whole years. It seems like yesterday that we were hanging out at the baseball house in Ephraim watch ESPN over and over and over.
Josh and I met in 1999 while we were at Snow College. Josh was in his 3rd year and playing baseball and I was entering my first year. We lived across the street from one another. My window was like a front door to their house. I met some of his roommates on day one but I don't remember ever meeting Josh. One night my roommates and I made the guys in his house dinner. Spaghetti actually and come to find out that he loves spaghetti but he likes it with certain noodles which we didn't use and he thought it was gross. As we were all sitting around the table reintroducing ourselves there he was *sigh* good old Jones. That's what I knew him as and called him until Justin heard me one day and made fun of me.
My roommate Camille and I would hangout out at his house every day and I got to know more and more about "Jones". I remember him coming over and inviting me to go and watch him play intramural basketball. If I knew then what I know now about him and basketball....sports in general it might be a different story ;). We played intramural football together and I asked him to a girls choice dance. I remember one night some girl was over at his house and was going to ask him to the dance. She would go into a room where he was and he would leave she would follow him and he would turn around and walk into another room. One of his roommates told me what was happening so I called Josh and told him I needed him to come over right away. He had to sneak out of his house so she wouldn't follow him. I meet him outside my apartment and asked him. Funny now that he said yes since it was two of the things he hates the most crowds and dancing.
This all leads up to that one fateful night. Sometime in September or October I was leaving for the day to go up north and see a freind off at the airport for his mssion. Most of the day my roommate Camille had been calling me and giving me updates on what he was doing. My plan was to stay in Provo for the night and head back to Ephraim the next morning. Well....then I got a phone call and it was Camille. I'm not sure how the whole conversation went but I remember her saying that she asked him "if you like her wink once if you really like her wink twice" and Josh said "wink, wink". I got in my car right away and headed home. We hung out with a couple of his roommates all night and just talked and talked and talked.
We meet each others families at Christmas time. Well he met my mom and I meet his entire family. Not just his Dad, Mom and Brothers but his Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts and Cousins....all in the same night. When we drove up to his Grandparents house and I saw all those cars I was terrified. He hadn't given me much warning so I didn't have much time to process it all before going inside.
Josh said I love you first. We were in my room and he was waiting for me to get some things together before we went to try and find some haunted house by Gunnison with friends. I remember him saying something like "I have never had a feeling like this before. It's so weird. I love you." I just keep getting gathering my things. Didn't say a word. I was speechless....shocked. He said "I'm going to go now." I felt horrible and was stumbling over my words. "No don't go, I'm so sorry, it took me by complete surprise and I just lost my train of thought. I love you too!"
We never had a proposal. We were just kind of said "let's get married" and sort of started planning. Josh's brother was married in April and when we got back to Ephraim from his wedding we just went into plan mode. We didn't even think twice about it we just started getting everything in order. We had the wedding all planned by the time I got my ring. It was the day before school was out and where on our way up north to get my dad's truck to take back to Ephraim so I could haul all my stuff home. On the way we stopped at Provo Towne Center and went to look at some rings. I wasn't planning on getting anything that night but I found one that Josh and I agreed so he purchased it. He wouldn't let me wear it out of the store and I was like whatever I was just happy to have a ring. When we got back in the car he took the ring out and finally asked me to marry him. Even though the wedding was planned and it was only about a month before the wedding it was still romantic and brought tears to my eyes.
June 16, 2000 Josh and I were married in my hometown of Monticello, UT. I am so blessed and grateful to have him in my life. He is such a great guy. I love you to much Jonesy! I look forward to becoming one of those cute old couples I always tell you I love so much! It doesn't get better than this!

Celebration of pink

On Saturday morning bright and early Kylie and I joined Debby, Janeil, Emma & Ausitn for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure 5K walk. What an incredible experience!
My mom lost a very dear friend to breast cancer, a friend of the Jones family found 3 lumps on one side and chose to have a double mastectomy at the very young age of 29 and Janeil's mom is a breast cancer survivor. It is so true what they say that everyone knows someone in some way that has been effected by breast cancer.
To be a part of something so much greater than me was awesome! To be around women who fight every day for their lives and people who fight for their loved ones who have lost their battle was so inspiring and really gave me hope for my daughter and her daughter and those to come for generations after me.
I thought that it was great to see so many people young and old helping to make a difference in peoples lives. I like to think that maybe some of those people don't know anyone who has been diagnosed but do have daughters or nieces that one day may be and they are just getting a head start in supporting her. I really loved seeing fathers, husbands, brothers and sons out there walking for the women in theirs lives, some didn't even have women with them.
I can not wait until next year! Hopefully more ladies will join us in supporting this great cause. Thanks Janeil for inviting us to walk with you. I had the time of my life all rolled into about an hour. And thanks to Emma for helping us see it through a child's eyes and summing it up into one sweet phrase "it's a celebration of pink"!

Happy Birthday Kylie

May 4, 2005 Kylie Camille joined the Jones family only 1 week early. I say "only" because I was put on bed rest 2 months earlier after having contractions and was given multiple shots to try and keep her from coming, after which I was induced. Right then I knew that my little girl was going to be as stubborn day to day as she was coming into the world.
Kylie is the baby of the family and also the only girl meaning she is a bit spoiled by her dad and brothers, Kasen not as much as Peyton....and ok, ok a bit by me, but I am also the only one who has to be mean to her because the boys are a little afraid to make her cry....once again Kasen not as much as Peyton. She is ALL GIRL. She loves to dance and twirl and sing and play. I love when she dances and sings as if no one is watching. It makes my heart melt. Since she was a baby we have called her pretty girl and told her she was pretty and whenever we say no to something and she asks "why?" we say "because you are pretty" or when she asks for something we say "sure, but only if your pretty!" The other day Josh said something was ugly and she asked "what does ugly mean?" So cute, I hope that she stays like that forever. Happy 4th birthday Sister Sue. I am so glad that we were blessed with a little girl. I love when you help me with the dishes, laundry and cooking, you are such a big help to me. I love to spend time with you shopping and running errands, you are such an easy keeper. I love when you tell me exaclty what you want to wear and exactly how you want your hair, it makes me smile. Right now (and only right now) do I think that it is really funny when you get mad and stomp off with your huge attitude, then again it does make me fear your teen years, but not as much as your dad.
To quote Martina McBrides song "in my daughters eyes I can see the future. A reflection of who I am and what will be. And though she'll grow and some day leave, maybe raise a family. When I am gone, I hope you'll see how happy she made me, for i'll be there in my daughters eyes." You are growing into such a beautiful little lady. I love with all my heart and hope that we are the best of friends forever.

Baseball update

Since I have a 3 day break from baseball i'm going to post a quick update on how the season's are going. Kasen's team is doing pretty well. They have won 3 and lost 2 machine pitch games and they are 1-1 in kid pitch. The season started with machine pitch and just as they were getting the hang of it they switched to kid pitch. Currently they are 4th in the standings. In the first kid pitch game Kasen got the pitch the first few innings and he was in high heaven. He is thinking that he is pretty dang cool now that he is playing "real baseball" like his older brother. They have 5 games left (1 being machine pitch) and hopefully more go our way than not. Peyton's city league team has won all of there games. They are on a 5 game winning streak and currently in 1st place. Their best game was a 12-0 shutout against the A's. The biggest competition has yet to come. The Mets are a half a game back and 6-o. We meet them in the middle of May and play them 3 times in a row. Those are going to be some great games. Peyton's super league team won their first 2 games they played. The first game their bats came alive and went from being tied to winning by 4. They kept their momentum in the second game and won 12-4. The second week was a rain out and by the looks of the weather report it may be one for the third week too.
Like I mentioned before all of this running from game to game night after night is a bit overwhelming but so worth it. Peyton and Kasen are having tons of fun and they are both doing so great. And Kylie, well......she is doing great too. Every night she asks me "what do we have tonight?" and her eyes light up when I say "nothing". She is such an easy keeper (sort of). She just hangs out and cheers them on. She doesn't know it yet, but when she gets older she will love being around all these boys night after night.
Keep up the good work boys, you are making me proud!!

Happy Birthday Kasen

So, now that I have a little free time I will do what I should have done 3 days ago and wish Kasen a Happy Birthday.
April 20, 2003 Kasen James came into the world 3 weeks early on an Easter Sunday kicking and screaming. 6 years later the only thing that has changed is that he screams much louder and kicks much harder. He is my little half and half. He doesn't have a worry in the world and yet he worries about the littlest things. Example: one day we were late getting the boys from school and I told Josh that when we got there Peyton would be in tears and Kasen wouldn't even know anything was wrong. I hit the nail right on the head, Peyton was in tears and Kasen was just moseying on right behind him watching the birds. Then in the same night Kasen kept getting out of bed asking if the doors and windows were locked. He is a bit careless yet cares very much for his brother and sister. I love him for that.
He brings so much fun to our family. I have been told that I have a Jered on my hands. And for those of you who know Jered, please keep me in your prayers ;) ;).He is my cute "little guy". I will be so sad the day he gets is growth spurt and turns into a young man. The cutest thing I absolutely love him for right now is the way he wears his hats. When he puts them on they never quite fit him right and always push his ears down. The other day I saw him put one on, adjust it a bit and then feel his ears. Oh my gosh I could have died. It was so dang cute. My heart will seriously break the day that his hats fit him and his ears no longer stick out. Happy 6th Birthday Kasey Bugs. I love you with all my heart and am so proud to be your mom. I love the way that you keep a hold of me when I give you good night hugs. I love your cute little laugh. I love, but hate, when you cry over EVERY little thing that happens to you. I love when you learn something new or do something just as good as your big brother and have that proud look on your face and I love that you ask for a snack morning, noon and night. I love being your mom and all that goes with it. You are going to turn into such a great young man one day and I know that I am so lucky to be here to guide you along and watch you grow!

Happy Easter

I can't believe that Easter has already come and gone. It seems as if it were just January and basketball was in full swing.
We had such a great Easter weekend. Friday night we went over to Justin and Janeil' s house for their neighborhood flashlight Easter egg hunt. My kids loved hunting for eggs in the dark. Who ever thought of that idea is genius. It was tons of fun! On Sunday we went to Jered and ShaRee's in the afternoon for food and fun with Debby. She put together 175 eggs for 11 grand kids. They were all over the place. We ate ham, potato's, rolls and ice cream. yummy, yummy!! The kids played their usual game of backyard baseball and there
was the usual pouting, fighting and crying. Other than that, it was a good time. In the evening we went over to Glen & Gloria's for another egg hunt and more food. The kids got to decorate buckets before the fun began, but I have to say that this was no ordinary egg hunt. The big kids went in the front yard and the little kids stayed in the back and just had a free for all, but then....they dumped all their goodies in a trash bag to be sorted out evenly. Every piece of candy and toy was counted out before hand and written down to be remembered so everyone got the same amount and it was all even. I couldn't help but laugh. Gloria is to, to funny! After the hunt we went in and enjoyed tons of yummy food and a lot of good company. So much food in one day....I was a bit sick the rest of the night. Thanks to Jered and ShaRee for the use of your home, to Debby for the yummy ham and potato's and to Glen and Gloria for the cute decorating idea and unusual egg hunt. Holidays are always so much fun! It is just a great excuse to eat a lot of yummy food and hang out with family.

A little bit of R & R

Last weekend we went down to Monticello to spend a few days. We were suppose to be in Mesquite for Peyton's baseball, but that was cancelled. Since Josh already had the time off, which never ever happens, we decided to skip town.
Let me tell you a little about the place. Monticello is a little town with one stop light (no more that 5 yrs. old) and one grocery store. My moms house is about 2 blocks from the mountain, a half an hour from Canyonlands and an hour from Moab and Arches National Park. My graduatin class was like 68 people. It is kind of like the tv show Cheers, you go there and everyone knows your name (and your business). There have been so many changes over the last couple of years. So many people have sold their homes and have built nice new ones. People are even building on the mountain. To me that is a sacred place so it strikes me as odd that someone would build a nice house, not a cabin but house, on the mountain. Josh makes fun of us because we say we are going "downtown" when we go to the store or gas sation because it really is only about 5 blocks or so. You can see Main Street when you are at the end of my mom's street. I remember when Josh visited while we were dating and he asked me to turn on the fire. I couldn't stop laughing and told him to go and get some kindling and wood and I would teach him how to build one.
I love going down there. It is such a nice break from home where we are always on the go. Whenever I let my mom know that we are coming down she always say "oh good we can go 4wheeling or to Canyonlands or on a picnic" and my response is always "that all sounds really fun, but we (Josh and I) just want to sit and do nothing." The kids, of course, always want to be doing something. I'm glad that we went. It was such a good trip. It is nice to spend time with my mom, Jack, Josh and the kids. Very rarely do we just get to hang out and do nothing.

Take me out to the ball game

Baseball is officially underway (well for Kasen anyway, Peyton has been playing since February)! After having their first games cancelled last Saturday Peyton and Kasen both played last night....and won! Peyton 11-6 and Kasen 2-0. Peyton's first at bat was mashed to the outfield (his words, not mine). It was only a single, but he got a RBI. Kasen's last at bat, he had 2 strikes against him in the 5th with the winning run on third. He got a great hit down the first base line bringing the runner home. My boys are awesome!
Peyton is doing two leagues this year, city league and super league. He plays 4 games a week, twice on weekdays and double headers on Saturdays, plus about 4 tournaments. He plays with an awesome group of boys (8 of them play on both teams) and has some great coaches. He has played with most of these kids and for three of the coaches going on 2 years. The rest of the kids joined the group last summer and they plan on them all playing together until high school, how great would that be! I love all the boys, they are so cute and tons of fun to be around. An extra bonus is that they all have great parents I get along with.
Luckily, Kasen isn't quite there yet and is only playing city league. He is loving it this year....not only does he get to have his cousin Tyson on his team (for the third year), but his dad is coaching him! I love to watch Kasen play. He is so little, but thinks that he should be playing with the big kids! It is so cute when he wears the catchers gear and batting helmets, they drowned him. I can't help but smile when I watch him. He is seriously so stinkin' cute out there.
Josh thinks that he is superman and is a coach on all three teams. I get to be team mom for two of them and poor, poor Kylie. What else can I say, she is such a trooper. I love her! And..how lucky are we, with 4 games during the week there are never two games at the exact same time and there are only 3 that are on the same day but have about an hour start difference. I was worrying I would have to choose whose games I missed. It's also nice that their fields are right next to each other, so I can just stand in the middle and watch them both.
Even though running to 6 games a week for the next three months doesn't sound like much fun and will be a bit overwhelming at times, I am going to be loving it. I am so grateful for the lessons that they are learning, for the life long friends they are making and for the memories that they are creating. It is times like these that they will remember for the rest of their lives. I am so proud of them for going out, doing their best and trying their hardest when sometimes that is all they can do. Love you boys, keep up the good work!

Triggers and Slips

A friend of Josh's that he used to play baseball with in high school and college (Morgan Snow) started a band a while ago called Triggers and Slips. So, last night I meet up with a couple of college buddies (Marianne and Eric) for dinner and then we went to hear him play. The band is sort of twangy old country meets old time rock with a bit of jazz and blues. I guess just a bit of everything. He plays the guitar, harmonica and is the lead singer. He also has a fiddler who has played with the late great Chris LeDoux. It was so awesome! The place were he played his "gig" was called Burt's Tiki Lounge. It has to be the smelliest, yuckiest, scariest, dive of a bar ever. Although I've never been in a bar type atmosphere before, Marianne and Eric have and they weren't so sure of the place either. Marianne's dad warned her about this place and told us all to use the buddy system. I mean, I wore my usual everyday clothes and I felt a bit dressed up there. It was like the place you picture in your head when you hear people say "I was discovered in an old run down bar"......only worse!! It was so weird, yet fun, to see Morgan up on stage like that. I never ever in a million years would have guessed that that is what he would be doing in his spare time. Not only playing two instruments at the same time and being the lead singer, but being really, really good at it!! Who knew Mo Snow had it in him?! It was so great to see them after all these years. It really made me miss everyone else from those days. Except, what I was thinking not coming home until 1:30 in the morning? I guess I was thinking that I was back at Snow where that was the norm for us.
Anyway, if you ever happen to hear Triggers and Slips on the radio one day CRANK IT UP!!

Blogging isn't so bad

Wow, I am finally getting the hang of this blogging thing. I just figured out how to make my page all cute, now I just need to get some pictures posted and I will practically be an expert. Hopefully I will be better at updating it more often. I'm now thinking this won't be as bad as I original thought.

Peyton goes on vacation

So, Peyton has been in Arizona with Jered and ShaRee watching Cayden play baseball since Wednesday and I am so ready for him to come home. He is only 8 and seems to be as independent as ever. In five days he only called me once. And he didn't really call me, ShaRee did and he just happened to be by her so he talked to me. He seemed to be having way to much fun to talk to his old mom. How sad is that? I know he is growing up way to fast for my own good, but who doesn't miss their mom at 8 years old?
Kasen and Kylie sure missed him. Every morning for 5 days they would come in and ask "how many more days until Peyton comes home?" Today I told them that he would be home when the clock said 7:30 and at one point they stood by the clock and told me when the time changed for about 10 minutes. I finally told them to go play and that they could just check the time every now and then. What a bright idea, mom! I'm sure glad to know that under all of the screaming and fighting they really do love one another. It must be true what they say "absence makes the heart grow fonder!"
Thanks Jered and ShaRee for taking him to "keep Kamree company", he had a lot of fun doing so.
