A friend of Josh's that he used to play baseball with in high school and college (Morgan Snow) started a band a while ago called Triggers and Slips. So, last night I meet up with a couple of college buddies (Marianne and Eric) for dinner and then we went to hear him play. The band is sort of twangy old country meets old time rock with a bit of jazz and blues. I guess just a bit of everything. He plays the guitar, harmonica and is the lead singer. He also has a fiddler who has played with the late great Chris LeDoux. It was so awesome! The place were he played his "gig" was called Burt's Tiki Lounge. It has to be the smelliest, yuckiest, scariest, dive of a bar ever. Although I've never been in a bar type atmosphere before, Marianne and Eric have and they weren't so sure of the place either. Marianne's dad warned her about this place and told us all to use the buddy system. I mean, I wore my usual everyday clothes and I felt a bit dressed up there. It was like the place you picture in your head when you hear people say "I was discovered in an old run down bar"......only worse!! It was so weird, yet fun, to see Morgan up on stage like that. I never ever in a million years would have guessed that that is what he would be doing in his spare time. Not only playing two instruments at the same time and being the lead singer, but being really, really good at it!! Who knew Mo Snow had it in him?! It was so great to see them after all these years. It really made me miss everyone else from those days. Except, what I was thinking not coming home until 1:30 in the morning? I guess I was thinking that I was back at Snow where that was the norm for us.
Anyway, if you ever happen to hear Triggers and Slips on the radio one day CRANK IT UP!!

Blogging isn't so bad
Wow, I am finally getting the hang of this blogging thing. I just figured out how to make my page all cute, now I just need to get some pictures posted and I will practically be an expert. Hopefully I will be better at updating it more often. I'm now thinking this won't be as bad as I original thought.

Peyton goes on vacation
So, Peyton has been in Arizona with Jered and ShaRee watching Cayden play baseball since Wednesday and I am so ready for him to come home. He is only 8 and seems to be as independent as ever. In five days he only called me once. And he didn't really call me, ShaRee did and he just happened to be by her so he talked to me. He seemed to be having way to much fun to talk to his old mom. How sad is that? I know he is growing up way to fast for my own good, but who doesn't miss their mom at 8 years old?
Kasen and Kylie sure missed him. Every morning for 5 days they would come in and ask "how many more days until Peyton comes home?" Today I told them that he would be home when the clock said 7:30 and at one point they stood by the clock and told me when the time changed for about 10 minutes. I finally told them to go play and that they could just check the time every now and then. What a bright idea, mom! I'm sure glad to know that under all of the screaming and fighting they really do love one another. It must be true what they say "absence makes the heart grow fonder!"
Thanks Jered and ShaRee for taking him to "keep Kamree company", he had a lot of fun doing so.
